Wunderlich Extreme Skid Plate for the Pan America

The functional design and constructive integration of our EXTREME three-piece skid plate, made of high-grade aluminum, provides comprehensive protection for the engine housing, the oil tank, parts of the manifold, the catalytic converter, the sensitive coolant expansion tank, and the exposed battery. The integrated stainless steel grill also protects the charging current regulator and ensures its cooling simultaneously.

The recessed screw connection underlines the adventure style in the best possible way. The black powder-coated skid plate hugs the engine tightly, ensuring the most excellent potential ground and lean clearance. The contour of the product avoids unpleasant jamming of the vehicle over terrain, whether from branches, rocks, or anything else you may encounter. Openings ensure that water picked up during river crossings can flow out freely again. The aluminum motor protection is corrosion-resistant and external forces, and torques are distributed to the shock-absorbing mountings to reduce peak loads. The silent blocks effectively absorb vibrations.

Our engineers have also ensured you have good, unrestricted access during maintenance works: such as an opening for the unhindered engine oil drainage.

We optimized the component weight and simultaneously realized high component stiffness and mechanical stability. The result is a sturdy, weight- and shape-optimized skid plate based on the design principle of form follows function, which flows perfectly into the design of the Pan America.
