Wunderlich's rear protection bars for the R1200 RT LC offer great protection for expensive, original RT saddlebags and provide a genuine visual highlight. What has long been standard equipment for authority motorcycles is now available for civilian use. Made from rigid, seamless precision tubular steel, Wunderlich engineers have developed a crash bar that protects the side panels and bags of the RT against bumps and falls. At the same time, the bars are so discreet that they impede neither the rider's nor the passengers' mobility. The easy operation of the original bag also remains unimpeded. Additional advantage: The bars are a perfect lifting point and can be used to attach further accessories or luggage.

Because the saddlebags are the bike's widest point, wider than the cylinders, damage without these guards is more likely.

I recently put these bars on and soon after had my first “ incident” The bars did what that are intended to and saved a potential expensive replacement. These are high quality bars that don’t look out of place on the bike and are well worth the price.

Luggage tip over protection

Fairly simple install. The only issue was that the right side footpeg bolt touched the muffler. An easy solution was simply to leave the bushing out of the assembly so that as the bolt was tightened it would pull the tip over bar away from the muffler.

This kit is a worthwhile investment along with the cylinder/engine crash bars...no one plans to tip over their ride..but for those boner moments...of kickstand slipped...rolly pebbles on asphalt as you're setting bike on kickstand or off...flipping a bit@h and bike stalls while your feathering the cluch during low speed maneuvers...you know..that one moment where your like sh!t...well with these beauts...no worries...bruise your pride...not your ride..

These black bars look perfect on my 2022 r1250rt Triple Black. Install was straight forward and no nonsense. The only point of concern is that on the high/exhaust side the mounting bolt on the passenger peg is a tad close for comfort. I'm sure it will be ok, but a few mm's less length would have been better.

I ordered the black rear luggage protection bars for my '22 Triple Black R1250RT. Once they were in stock, they shipped quickly. Installation was very easy and the online and printed instructions were clear. I will add that the two M8x20mm bolts that were provided for the upper connection point are actually too short to be properly used with the unlock nuts (also provided). The nylon insert is not fully engaged as the bolt does not come all the way through and beyond the insert, which is incorrect. These bolts should actually be M8x25mm for them to work properly and to ensure that they do not loosen over time. I called Wunderliche and was told that "they should work since that's the size they have always used." I will look for M8x25mm stainless steel bolts to finish the installation correctly but I think Wunderliche should provide the correct length bolts. This should be a 5-star review but I felt the incorrect sized bolts warranted a reduction to 4-stars. Aside from that the bars look like they were factory installed and I feel much better with this added protection against body damage in the event of an accidental tip over. (I also ordered the engine protection bars, which installed and fit great and I have reviewed separately.)

I read other reviews about these getting in the way for the passenger. My wife got used to them after mounting/dismounting 4 times. They offer better protection than more minimalistic bars. I am really happy with how they turned out.
