Pan America Windscreen Lock

The standard screen of the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 and the Special is mounted together with a subframe. The subframe is bolted together with the windshield at a total of four points to the height-adjustable windshield holder of the Pan America.

It has been found that this type of mounting can cause the windshield together with the subframe to detach from the two height-adjustment brackets almost unnoticed in the event of high wind loads associated with turbulence. In addition, unauthorized persons who know the special mounting principle can remove and steal the pane in no time at all. Loosening the upper retaining points and pulling it out of the height adjustment guides is all that is required. No tools are needed.

With our pane lock, which consists of two discreet, black powder-coated locking plates, we kill two birds with one stone: the two precisely manufactured locks prevent the pane and the subframe from detaching themselves from the height adjustment. They are easy to install and ensure that the upper brackets of the standard pane are permanently secured, i.e. they can no longer come loose independently and unnoticed as a result of turbulent wind loads. They also reduce the risk of theft, because the windscreen can only be removed after the securing plates have been removed. And tools are necessary for this.
