Double USB Outlet
For 12 volt systems
This double outlet features an integrated clamp that will allow secure attachment to any round tube up to 25mm or one inch diameter. The clamp attachment is made of very sturdy plastic and it is secured with 4 screws.
This double USB socket outlet allows you to charge and operate two electronic devices simultaneously. This item is just what's needed on bikes with the Can Bus electrical system. It connects directly to the battery and it will reliably power your electric accessories, with or without the key switched on.
If you want to have a switched circuit, you can either connect the part through a switch such as the mini-switch (7060035) so that it can be switched off when not in use or through the CLS connect kit (7107519), which will allow automatic switching on and off of the outlet.

It does work no arguments there. But on my 2019 S1000R the wiring is not long enough to reach the battery from the handlebars. I had to add additional wiring.
Plus the handlebars are too thick to fit this on. I ended up installing on the mirror stem with the extender riser kit.

Item installed perfectly on the removal black plastic triangular panel left of the instrument panel. Didn't need the mounting bracket as once the large plastic screw cap was removed, the entire bracket simply came off. I used a 1" hole saw to cut thru the plastic panel and used a round file to increase the diameter another 1/16". The USB housing was then pushed thru the hole and secured by the large threaded plastic cap. Installed, it looks like it came from the factory! One note: The wires had to be extended in order to reach the right-side hot terminal in front of the battery. The negative wire was connected to the negative battery post. I went to the local auto parts store to get the correct size eyelet terminals. This additional effort was not a big deal and well worth it! I luv it!

Device appears to be made of good quality materials. The wires are of a good gauge and are easily long enough to reach from the handlebars to the battery terminals on my 2008 R1200R. I added some black electrical tape (not necessary) where the wires enter the back of the unit to help seal things and to make for a smoother looking transition. Otherwise, the red wire (see picture on product webpage) is a little bit exposed. The retained rubber cap that snaps over the USB ports is pretty heavy duty and should provide a more than adequate weather seal. Installation on my 7/8" diam handlebars was very easy and the mount looks like it will work on a wide range of handlebar sizes. It does a good job of keeping my iPhone charged when I'm using it as a GPS. Direct wiring it to the battery means the blue LED stays on all of the time, but I don't find it bothersome and the LED should draw very little current. Overall, it looks to be good quality at a reasonable price.
