Wunderlich AKTIVKOMFORT Seat
Available in Standard & Tall Verisons:
Standard: 5mm Higher then OEM Standard Seat
Tall: 20mm Higher then OEM Standard Seat (Rider)
We also manufacture our
reduced height seats with a characteristic, ergonomic 3D contour that
lets riders and passengers become one with their BMW. The shape and
angle of the carefully crafted, progressively structured, dual-layer
seat core support the ergonomically beneficial, natural posture of the
back. Integrated, riding is a relaxing affair and thus also active. And
there's no doubt that relaxed sitting adds a serious plus to passive
safety. The integrated wind channel on the seat provides pleasant
ventilation while you ride. Grippy cover material also increases the
comfort factor. With the ThermoPro
coating, the temperature of this seat in direct sun at the peak of
summer is up to 25°C lower compared to standard, untreated cover
materials.
The same applies to all
AKTIVKOMFORT seats: The "buckling" of the cushioning is reliably
prevented via the sophisticated construction and the sitting pressure is
equally distributed over a large area, resulting in noticeably lower
specific pressure load to your behind. Comfy! Also typically Wunderlich:
The incorporated concave profile for relieving the pressure-sensitive
coccyx is another outstanding trademark! They offer perfect hold and
active, reliable control during accelerated riding, also and especially
when braking: Who hasn't experienced it, when your passenger suddenly
slides forward on braking and you immediately have to brace while
simultaneously having to steer in what could be a hairy situation? With
Wunderlich's very own support contour, these scary moments while braking
are now a thing of the past. The innovative, ergonomic 3D contour also
ensures that pressure points on the inner thighs while standing at the
lights are now a distant memory.
More comfort with ThermoPro: With the ThermoPro
coating, the temperature of this seat in direct sun at the peak of
summer is up to 25°C lower compared to standard, untreated cover
materials

I bought the Wunderlich "AK" seat for my 2023 XR, to replace the cute, but slightly uncomfortable "M" seat that came with the "M" package. The "M" seat feels "sporty" to me b/c it positions you low, "in" the bike. And it might be "okay" for short, low mileage runs. But the Aktivkomfort is "the answer" for short AND, "high mileage" rides, imo. I'm 6'1" w/32" inseam, @ 220 lbs. I ordered the "Tall" style, but I'm very sure I could have been good with the "Standard" style, also. But I would not recommend the Tall style for a rider w/30" inch or less inseam, b/c you might* have an issue with your feet touching the ground. The seat locks onto the bike perfectly, just like the original seat. Wunderlich has the padding on this thing "dialed in"👌🏻, imo. It is very supportive of my weight(I love it!). The surfaces are very grippy(you will NOT slip or slide once you position yourself). The build quality imo, is top notch in every detail. This seat seems like it's built to last as long as the bike. But if for any reason I needed another seat for my XR, I'm sure I would buy the Aktivkomfort again.

My original seat did not cause pain but after a 3-4 hundred mile trip, it was sore. I put this seat on, sat on it in the garage and said “eh, same as the original”. A couple of weeks later I was able to go out and ride about 80 miles. The thing that I realized was NOTHING…I didn’t even think about the seat, not once, I also didn’t have to squeeze my tank to stop me from sliding forward in the saddle…reduced any leg fatigue that I have had in the past…big plus for me. As for the company, perfect order. Processed fast, delivered when promised and great packing to protect the seat. By the way, my new Corbin seat sits in the garage, as it was bought before this one and was not told that it would be taller than stock and was not shaped that way the picture demonstrated…Wunderlich America wins, hands down!

The factory seat was rough, it is constantly pushing you into the tank which can be very uncomfortable. It is much more pronounced when you're on the long downhill side of a mountain pass. You can stiff-arm it a bit and keep some "separation" between yourself and the tank but who wants to do that? The new seat is comfy, no more getting pushed into the tank and as other reviewers had mentioned the seat is firm but even after a few days of riding it is noticeably better not too firm by any means it just keeps getting better. It's starting to mold itself a bit to my rear end and now I really like it. Pricey but so is the bike. Thank you Wunderlich team!
