Supplemental Tank Bars
Our reinforcement bar not only complements the side of your Adventure, it also reinforces and perfects it. This reinforcement bar for the standard tank protection bar on the R 1250 GS Adventure not only reliably protects the tank, but also the bodywork. In addition, it gives the Adventure a striking and unique look. The bar is made from 25mm thick precision stainless steel pipe. We use the upper receptacles on the mounting so that it follows the lines of the tank without becoming wider or protruding further.

After horsing around and dumping my R1250 a couple of times I realized how handy the crash bars were. I lucked out both times and didn't damage my tank but decided it was only a matter of time before it was damaged. I bought these and didn't really have any issue installing them. I did have some issues lining up some of the holes. My only complaint is the one bracket that kind of looks tacky. Everything else just looks like it belongs and that looks like an afterthought. Having said that, I'm not sure what other engineering solution would get the job done.
