HelmLock Anti-Theft System
The safe and easy way to deter helmet theft for your BMW.
Thanks to an additional, spring supported locking bar, it's absolutely impossible to unhook the cables without removing the seat. That makes our anti-theft system completely different from many other models.
The covered security cable takes two helmets at the same time and when not needed, it can be simply stowed beneath the seat. An enormously helpful product. Once you own it, you wouldn't want to do without!
Additional Details::
- Easy anti-theft securing of up to two helmets
- No additional lock etc. needed. Access to release is protected by the seat lock
- The aluminum locking unit is fastened under the seat by means of two screws
- Safety cable can be stowed beneath the seat when is not used
- 5mm thick steel cable
- With stainless steel reinforced loops to protect the cable
- Thick silicon coating on the cable protects against abrasion and paint damage
- Includes all needed mounting parts

I installed this on a 2014 R1200RT. This is not as easy to use as I would like. I had been using a gun cable lock and was hoping to save time locking my helmet to the bike. Unfortunately, it takes the same amount of time (or more), because the cable doesn't stow easily and interferes with the seat latch. So, it always takes several attempts to rearrange the cable and seat-warmer wire to allow the seat to latch. Also, it is difficult to hook/unhook the cable loops in the retention hooks. The tolerance of hook/slot is a little too tight. So, attaching/removing the cable loop requires more effort and time than it should. The repeated use is chewing through the protective plastic coating on the cable. Looking at the picture, I now see that the plastic coating stops about 1.5 inches from the looped end. The plastic coating on mine extends over the entire cable. So, maybe it's a manufacturing defect. The installation instructions are somewhat unclear. It's just a few photographs with arrows pointing to various features. They stress the installation of the ~3-inch protective rubber edging, but provide no instructions on where it goes! It's meant to slide over some share metal edge, but I left it off, because I didn't know where to put it and was sure that it would fall off eventually anyway. The large BMW Top case is too small to hold the helmets that they claim it can. So, I'm mystified that they don't offer a viable helmet storage solution for this bike. Since I couldn't find any other options, I would probably buy this again.
