    Great Storage Addition

Great secure addition to my on-bike storage. Love that it was keyable to my bike’s existing key! Easy installation. Well worth the money!

    Installation Woes
    (USA) | June 12th, 2024
Ok, the keying process was so easy-thx to the video. However, the parts department did a lousy job in supplying the correct parts. Instead of supplying (7) M7 washers I got 6 and a little screw that goes nowhere. Now I had to go to my local Home Depot and search their washer section to something compatible. The plastic box lid was also a PITA to secure/lock. Had to push the lid firmly in place in order for the bolt to secure the lid. I sure hope that it gets easier to open as time goes on. Cmon parts department, check the plastic bags you supply to your customers so they do not have to spend more time and money on something that you should have supplied in the first place!
    Much better than competitor boxes

I recently bought this box for my BMW R1200GS. I previously bought a similar box from Touratech, but the fitment was terrible. While heavy plastic instead of metal, this box is much more solid, and the steel mounting plate secures the box far better than the Touratech version. I hadn't tried any Wunderlich products until recently. This is the third item I've bought from them. I'm a fan. Great designs and high quality build, plus actually helpful instructions and installation videos!

    Great Product

Love the EDC and have my tools and air pump stored in it so I always am able to fix on the go and don’t take up valuable space in the panniers. The key to your bike key lock is easy to key up just take your time if not experienced in locks, doable.

    Over priced for no reason
    (Illinois) | September 4th, 2023
Kit is nice (Wunderlich makes excellently engineered stuff) but the instructions are primarily in German. Some assembly pieces (liquids) weren't labeled in English and no translation was provided. They mark stuff up about 25% versus buying direct from Europe but Wunderlich America does nothing to earn this. Kinda disappointing that they leverage their monopoly on the stuff here for no good reason. At least look at what you're selling, see if it makes sense, and fix it if it doesn't. Hardware: A Assembly instructions: D Also, I'm not sure the 'must remove OEM fender' is applicable. I installed no problem with fender in place and on top of my Mosko soft luggage.

    The Good and Bad
    (Cleveland OH) | June 6th, 2023
Overall nice box. Here is a list of pros and cons. I chose this one over the competition for the style and color as well as the ability to key the lock to the bike. Pros: Seems sturdy, enough space for my tool roll, looks nice tucked away. Keyed option is really nice and easy to do. Cons: Directions were poorly done. No words just pictures and missing some key elements -make sure to look at the entire directions before installing anything. It’s heavier than expected (not a bad thing necessarily but if you’re weight sensitive, this isn’t light). The locking door is tough to work. Hoping it’ll break in after a while but it’s such a tight fit I’m worried about breaking the key, but hopeful it’ll loosen up over time. Overall happy with the edc box and given the options on the market I’d probably buy again.

    Initial thoughts on EDC box
    (Alaska, USA) | March 13th, 2023
I absolutely love the extra storage for tools and emergency items the EDC box provides on my 2023 R1250GSA. My choice was for the optional codable lock, so I can open and lock it with the factory key. This was easy to do and worked perfectly for me. Build quality appears to be very good. Due to limited clearance between the rear tire and the box, the splash guard had to be removed as per enclosed instructions. I’m not a huge fan of removing the guard, but I understand compromises are necessary. Mounting the box with the supplied bracket was tricky as one almost needs a third hand to hold thing together while tightening the first bracket screw. Fit with the Mosko Moto pannier bases installed is possible, but I had to compromise again and eliminate one of the two bottom brackets for the pannier system in order for the EDC box to fit.

    EDC Tool Box
    (Pennsylvania) | January 9th, 2023
At first glance the materials used for the box, mounting frame and hardware seem to be of good quality. Instructions are typical in this day and age of using icons and hieroglyphics. Mounting is a pain, need three hands. Construction of the box came into question after I had mounted to the bike. The box is made up of two halves connected by threaded studs that I see no way of adjusting, which is fine. But I came back the next day to install tools, and noticed light come through the seems, making the box less than water resistant. I have contacted Wunderlich America twice via email, and have yet to receive a response.
    Nice box, but pricey.

The video for coding the lock cylinder doesn't show the little washer that goes between the cylinder and the interior lock arms. It provides just enough shim for the mechanism to operate smoothly and not stiff like people are complaining about online. It's a nice little box, but they should highlight that washer.
    Great for the money

Fairly easy to install. Alignment holes on catch brackets were not drilled correctly but made it work. Lock cylinder was easy to make with the directions and pictures provided. Water tight and great to use on the bike
