Description
LED Indicator Insert w-Brakelight
This high-tech LED insert replaces the original reflector and bulb of the standard BMW turn signal and functions as both a turn signal as well as an additional brake light. The numerous yellow-shining LED's produce a bright light and do not delay when switched on as standard incandescent bulbs do. A special resistor is incorporated into the insert to ensure correct indicating frequency. Can be used with amber or clear turn signal lenses.
This version features an integrated brake light function (BrakeFlash)that will make you much more visible to anyone behind you. Sold as a set of two inserts (left and right side) and suitable for the rear turn signals only. For the front turn signals (if applicable to your model) order the standard LED insert set, part number 8601060, available under the Related Products. Supplied with clear instructions and all needed wiring and connectors.

The shipping was fast. Once it arrived, the hardest part was starting. The instructions were clearly written. Emory cloth was needed to ensure a secure, snug fit in the housing. Due to the dual colored LEDs, yellow for the turn signals and red for the brake light, I used a clear replacement lense and was not disappointed.

Installed these LED's on my R1200C last week and am very happy with how they work. I feel that visibility for both braking and turning is much improved. Installing had a couple of minor issues, both of the inserts were a little too large for the 1998 stock turn signal housings, which required sanding down the edges of the circuit boards until they fit. Only took a few minutes with my bench disk sander, but this could be more of a nuisance if you had to to this by hand. Wiring of the turn signals was plug and play, however wiring the brake lights requires finding a way to splice the wires provided into the existing brake light. This would be much easier if the manufacturer provided a splice kit, or Y connector of some sort. Overall very happy with the product and clear lenses installed with it.

Technology is helping improve our safety. My 2004 R1200CL needed more rear visibility. This kit allowed me to have the power of LED and maintain the original look. Now my turn signals also have a brake light function; now 3 lights rather than one. Everything you need is in the kit and fit without modification. I took Wunderlich's advice and bought the clear lens covers to replace the amber. The LED's have amber for turn and red for stop.
